F1 COLLECTION 145
LIGIER JS21 - 1983
Ligier JS21 as driven by Raul Boesel
The unique Ligier JS21 was one of the most interesting and innovative single-seaters presented since ground effect was banned in 1983. However, the radical aerodynamic solutions adopted, together with hydropneumatic suspension, turned out to be impractical. We dive into the technical data of what was in essence a beautiful car.
The issue takes a look at Alain Prost’s team from 1997-2001, when the French team finally closed its doors without any significant results, plus it looks at the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix™ and starting grid.
British Innes Ireland is our Champion of F1, with some great photographs showing the driver in top form.
