Slovakia gained a surprise victory over Poland in their first UEFA Euro 2020™ match, thanks to Milan Škriniar’s crucial 69th-minute strike. Róbert Mak’s shot led to a Wojciech Szczęsny own goal in the 18th minute, which saw Slovakia take the lead. Karol Linetty equalised early in the second half, but it was centre-back Škriniar who scored the winner, his third international goal in his last four games.
