Croatia got off to a poor start and ended the first half a goal down to a surprisingly lively Czech Republic. Early in the second half, a rocket shot from Ivan Perišić saved the 2018 World Cup finalists from defeat. It was the exciting winger’s 29th international goal, putting him third in Croatia’s all-time goal scorers’ list, behind only Davor Šuker (45) and Mario Mandžukić (33).
