In a match full of twists and turns Spain beat Croatia to qualify for the quarter-finals. The Spanish went behind to a Pedri own goal, but turned the game around with Pablo Sarabia, César Azpilicueta and Ferran Torres all getting on the scoresheet. It looked all over, but goals from Mislav Oršić and Mario Pašalić forced the game into extra time. Álvaro Morata's left-foot shot in the 100th minute rocketed in to put his team 4-3 up, before Mikel Oyarzabal rounded off the scoring to make it 5-3.
